ACTIVITIESCYCLING THE OKANAGANTouring the Okanagan on two wheels is a popular way to get around and see the scenery. Pastoral scenery and roads that are often quiet make for a pleasant way to explore the valley. On or off-road, you'll find great rides here. If you're on the road, stay safe. Stay in single file and keep to the right. Keep enough speed to keep control of your bicycle and pay attention. If you want to admire the scenery, please pull off. The writer of this page has seen cyclists suddenly veer several feet off their line of travel as they look out over a lake or look over their shoulder to check approaching traffic. Some of your rides may be along old rail routes, since converted to fantastic cycling and hiking areas. You may very well see sizeable wildlife such as elk and mountain sheep. And get ready for the hills. If you are going to ride for any appreciable distance, you will get some exercise! You can go your own way, or enjoy one of a number of wonderful guided tours. For visitors from elsewhere, keep in mind:
Mission Creek GreenwayMission Creek Greenway is a gravel-surfaced, multi-use trail that can be accessed from various points along Lakeshore Road in downtown Kelowna. This is an easy ride that you can enjoy for an hour or two. Starting in the city, you'll quickly find yourself in farmers' fields.
