PERFORMING ARTS

Kelowna is home to the Sunshine Theatre Company, Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Kelowna. The major arts venues are the new Visual and Performing Arts Centre and Kelowna Community Theatre.

The Rotary Centre for the Arts provides space for artists, musicians, dancers and actors to gather, practice and perform. The 332-seat Mary Irwin Theatre, inside the Centre and the 879-seat Kelowna Community Theater, play host to artists in the performing and visual arts.

The warm, dry climate lends itself to open-air performances and celebrations. There is considerably crossover with wine, food and art festivals complementing one-another. For example, the region's famous wine festivals will also involve performance and art.
