BIG WHITE SKI RESORT

Big White averages 24.5 feet (7.5 metres) per year of fresh champagne powder and an amazing 2,765 acres of skiable terrain. Some folks have the impression that there’s Whistler, then Blackcomb, then everything else – a long third. In fact, Big Whit is the second biggest mountain in British Columbia, and it’s all beautiful snow!

Big White’s abundant snowfall, mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine make it an ideal place for skiers of any level. Depending on condiitions, the season runs roughly from late November to mid-April.

Big White has been awarded “Best Grooming in the West” by Ski Canada Magazine, and even “Best Weather”. That weather includes an average temperature of -6C (21F), abundant snowfalls and endless days of sunshine. This is “real” snow – over 24 feet of champagne powder per year. The temperature is just right to keep the snow light and fluffy, while being comfortable for skiiing, boarding, riding or snow-shoeing.

With 118 patrolled runs, groomed runs prepared nightly and green runs accessed from every lift, even a beginner will experience the thrill of big mountain skiing and riding at Big White. Renowned for glades, cruisers and bowl skiing, Big White has won numerous ‘Best in Canada’ awards including ‘Best Variety of Terrain’, ‘Best Glade Skiing’ and ‘Best Grooming’.

At Big White Ski Resort, you’ve even got night skiing – under the bright lights of the largest night skiing area in Western Canada.

An exceptional and top-quality ski area.
