PERFORMING ARTS

The Rotary Centre for the Arts provides space for artists, musicians, dancers and actors to gather, practice and perform. The 332-seat Mary Irwin Theatre, inside the Centre and the 879-seat Kelowna Community Theater, play host to artists in the performing and visual arts. The warm, dry climate lends itself to open-air performances and celebrations. There is considerably crossover with wine, food and art festivals complementing one-another. For example, the region’s famous wine festivals will also involve performance and art. Some of the year’s events to take note of are:

• Okanagan Spring Wine Festival (May)
• Merritt Mountain Music Festival (July)
• Kelowna Regatta (July)
• Okanagan Fall Wine Festival (October)
