The Cove Lakeside Resort establishes new Student Scholarship in partnership with the Okanagan College School of Business

The Cove Lakeside Resort is thrilled to announce the establishment of an annual student scholarship in partnership with the Okanagan College School of Business – Kelowna Campus. The Derek Trethewey (Cove Lakeside Resort) Legacy Award in Tourism & Hospitality Management will award $3,000 annually to a full-time student in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program who has chosen to specialize in Tourism & Hospitality. The criteria to receive this award is based on a combination of academic achievement and financial need, with equal emphasis.

This award is named after our founder, the late Derek Trethewey to honour his legacy, by investing in our local community through hospitality-focused education that will benefit future leaders.

Last week, on November 6, 2023, Okanagan College – Kelowna Campus held their Fall Student Awards ceremony and our Director of Sales & Marketing, Bobby Bissessar was in attendance to present the award to the first recipient since its establishment - Arin Krivsky. Arin, a diligent final year student hopes to one day own and operate her very own local agritourism hospitality destination.  Congratulations Arin!
